Designing an Inspirational Office

Entering the office today was such a sigh of relief after a few days spent on client visits and a photo shoot in Weston. I love being on a job site but some days I just need to sit in front of a computer and catch up on logistics. Office spaces should be functional yet creative and ours is no different.

When we designed our office a few years back, comfort, good lighting, and enough storage for materials and finishes was essential. We found an industrial loft space in the South End of Boston and infused our soft-modern sensibility by adding floor-to-ceiling curtains, custom-upholstered mood boards, colorful area rugs, and a cozy seating area for clients.

We chose a neutral backdrop of White Dove by Benjamin Moore on the walls to allow the color accents to change over time. The lighting has many layers, including fluorescent spot lights, ambient light from table lamps, and task lighting on every desk. Now we have a functional, comfortable, and truly inspiring office space for our amazing team of five women.
