Reider + Co collaborated with the architect on the expansion of this suburban home that included a new great room, kitchen, and bathroom that would represent family-friendly functionality with sophistication.
The great room provides a welcoming spot for movie nights and cocktail parties, with comfortable furnishings in elevated yet durable fabrics and a soothing neutral palette with pops of blue and metallic accents. A wood-paneled ceiling punctuated by a skylight and display of hanging glass orbs draws the eye upward, while a slim gas fireplace at the front of the room injects warmth at the ground level.
The new space flows seamlessly into the kitchen, which pairs chef-worthy elements with a modern sensibility. A stunning La Cornue range and custom hood, abundant cabinetry, statement lighting, and an oversized island make it the home’s hub for a daily party of five and all other entertaining occasions.
