These empty nesters knew they wanted to be in the city and near the water. Boston’s waterfront–in the midst of a major residential resurgence–was the perfect place to roost.
As part of a full renovation of this penthouse loft, the Reider + Co team created a modern urban design scheme with luxe finishes and layered textures that unify the interiors with its high-rise and water views.
A living room wall in varying shades of antique mirrored glass both reflects the water and makes a bold statement, while the fireplace wall of chiseled limestone tile mimics the water’s movement. In the kitchen, unique finishes such as leather, burnished metal, and wire-brushed lacquered cabinetry give off a downtown vibe, accented by a rippled backsplash that references the spectacular view.
