With their feet firmly planted in the city, this young family longed for an easily accessible country retreat where they could recharge during weekends and vacations. When they stumbled upon a newly constructed home situated on the corner of a farm in Middletown, Rhode Island, they knew they had found just the spot.

The couple wanted to create a peaceful, open oasis that could serve as a counterpoint to apartment living, yet withstand the rigors of active children. Using a soothing color palette that calls to mind the natural surroundings and seaside vibe of nearby Newport, the Reider + Co team used large-scale furniture to complement the open floor plan and create welcoming spaces for the guests and extended family members that are sure to congregate there.

Rachel and her team proved themselves to be good listeners, talented designers, and budget conscious. The result: a home we love. Rachel was upfront about what was and wasn’t possible within our budget. She managed to create a design plan that pleased both my husband and me, which is no easy task considering we have different tastes. The team handled contractors, billing, delivery of furniture, questions, and edits with utmost professionalism. Our home feels like the best version of us, though we would have never been able to get it that way without the talented, detail-oriented people at Rachel Reider Interiors.
