When longtime Reider + Co clients, known for their enthusiastic love of color, purchased a Victorian-style home in their beloved city neighborhood, they turned to our team to give the house a much-needed transformation.
The goal for this project was to celebrate the homeowners’ personal style and the home's distinctive architecture, while balancing durability and the functional needs of an active family of six.
Before installation, working closely with Niche Architecture, Sea-Dar Construction, Venegas and Company, and Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design, the property underwent a complete renovation to meet the family’s modern lifestyle, including the addition of a custom pool room, sauna, and cold plunge, extensive architectural millwork, and a complete transformation of the kitchen and baths. These updates provided an ideal canvas to bring our design vision to life.
Our design approach was grounded in custom craftsmanship and showstopping details, embracing bold palettes, innovative finishes, and striking visual moments that honored the home’s historic character while reflecting our clients’ global influences and distinctive personal style. Every room, including an open-concept kitchen with a multipurpose informal dining and living area, as well as a noteworthy library featuring dramatic color and a custom workstation, was thoughtfully considered and elevated, ensuring that the design flowed seamlessly throughout the home.
From hand-painted, embroidered, and jeweled de Gourney wallpaper to custom lighting and one-of-a-kind carpets, the result is a design that feels both luxurious and deeply personal.
