The Coco
Boutique Hotel - The Coco
EDGARTOWN, MA
Embarking on their 10th boutique hotel design project with this client and hotel owner, Reider + Co left no design stone unturned when it came to reimagining the look of this eclectic 8-room 19th-century Edgartown inn.
Steeped in history, The Coco was built in 1892 by whaler Captain Charles Wiliam Fisher, named after his wife’s dog and inspired by her travels and adventures at sea. Reider + Co kept this important story close to mind to create a modern-day interpretation of a welcoming captain’s house.
A beautifully curved staircase welcomes guests to the inn’s residential-like vibe and sets the tone and inspiration for the unique design of each of its eave-tucked rooms. The team meticulously selected all the materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, art, wallcoverings, and accessories, ensuring that each element cohesively complements its coastal environment incorporating elements like grasscloth wallpaper, linen-like fabrics, and sheer drapes to create a seamless flow to the outdoors.
