The Edgartown Inn
The Edgartown Inn
EDGARTOWN, MA
While the Vineyard is best known for the rugged coastline and sandy beaches that ring its exterior, a significant part of its heritage lies in the farms and gardens found further inland.
While redesigning The Edgartown Inn, Reider + Co’s goal was to bring that organic spirit to this classic sea captain’s house. The overall ambiance is now light and airy by pairing natural materials such as linen, rope, and wood with a complementary neutral palette.
Woven light fixtures in the guest rooms and shared spaces provide an artisanal feel, while a wall of greenery infuses the hotel’s lounge with a living pop of color. To convey a clear sense of place, imagery, and artwork from local creators were woven throughout.
Photography by Alison Shaw is featured in the 12 intimate guest rooms, and artist MC painted a creative mural in the entryway to highlight the locations of the island’s farms. This transformed farmhouse-inspired retreat adds a unique option to the Vineyard’s hospitality landscape.
