We could barely contain our excitement when the call came in to design a hotel based on the Golden Era in Newport, RI. Finally, a chance to incorporate lacquer, mirrored surfaces, and rich textiles, all in a 17-room hotel!
The interior design of colorful wallpapers, jewel tone mirrors, plush carpets, and gold accents, accented by a white lacquer and black velvet pool table in the billiards room, call to mind the extravagance of another time. All wrapped up in a shockingly purple exterior, the envelope-pushing decor is unlike anything found in Newport.
Reider + Co’s design of Gilded has been recognized by Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards, where it was named among the Top 30 Hotels in the Northeast, celebrating its unique design and elevated guest experience.
